Head of Technology Services

About this Role

We’re looking for a Head of Technology to provide strategic and operational leadership that enhances teaching and learning within one of RTG customers, being a dynamic K-12 private school. This is a core leadership role within the school leading a team of RTG onsite staff as well as other remote resources. You will be responsible for planning and strategy, operational and project management, customer satisfaction and people coaching and development.


With a strong customer mindset, you will be able to partner with the leadership at the College and across RTG to deliver a well thought-out roadmap that considers all stakeholder requirements. You will assume ownership of the schools tech assets including vendor relationships, infrastructure, and systems. You will have an innovative approach to technology and understand how an organisation can leverage off technology to more effectively continue its journey.

This role is based onsite at the client's campus within the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead in all aspects of digital development including the formulation and implementation of the digital strategy
  • Work alongside the senior management and chair the Technology Committee, ensuring that the technology environment is capable of supporting the objectives and goals of the business.
  • Lead the technology team of three IT Support Officers and work with others within RTG to develop the strategy into an actionable plan.
  • Ensure that the technology strategy (including system selection and risk planning) is operationalised and delivered and any issues are addressed.
  • Develop annual technology roadmap and operating budget and monitor the implementation of these to ensure that financial targets are met.
  • Drive and manage projects and service delivery activities to ensure successful delivery including ongoing support and training.
  • Lead your team to deliver consistent superior customer services that is continually improved.
  • Implement and manage operational procedures for the management of all digital systems, equipment, subscriptions, and other technologies.
  • Establish SLAs and XLAs that reflect the needs and outcomes of the client and lead the team in achieving these and building on these to outperform user expectations

About You

  • Strong leadership abilities demonstrated by experience in leading a team and developing and implementing technology strategies
  • A strategic and purpose-oriented mindset
  • Change management and project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience analysing problems and providing clarity of direction and leadership to provide solutions
  • Knowledge and experience with information systems ideally in education, in particular school management and learning management systems but doesn't have to be
  • Demonstrated experience in successful collaboration
  • A strong interest in emerging technologies 
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information and Communication Technology or Educationbout
